My name is Luc Benito. And for more than twenty-five years, I have worked in the cultural sector, and in film and audiovisual more specifically. I am a cinema operator, a festival director, and I teach at university. I also make my own films, which I have listed on the site. So I know this world from the inside — the people who make it, and their difficulties. Every creator, in fact, started out as emerging, with no network and no visibility. That is why CommuniFilms leaves no one aside. On the contrary, the site places every work in the same continuity, from the short film to the acclaimed one.
Films first: a documented page for every work
On CommuniFilms, the film comes first. Every work gets a documented page: cast, crew, technical details, festival selections, awards and a viewing link. So the page brings everything together in one place, and it stays accessible. Around the film gather the people who made it: the site names their work, credits it, keeps it findable. The page is worth it in itself, even if no one else has signed up yet. Indeed, listing a work gives it real visibility right away. Moreover, every creation — feature film, short film, series or music video — counts equally. So CommuniFilms is not a place to show off: it is a place where works exist.
A serious project, built to last
CommuniFilms is a personal initiative that I created with my production company, Les Films du Siou Blanc — a company registered with the trade register. Real legal notices and a privacy policy, compliant with the GDPR, frame it. Moreover, I fund it with my own money, and with no profit motive. Viewing the site and showcasing films will remain free. If, one day, the platform generates revenue, I will say so openly. And I will never charge creators for the simple fact of being seen. Today, emerging film and video finally has a space of its own.
