Everywhere, films, series and music videos are being made by teams who believe in them. CommuniFilms gives them a home: each work has a documented page — crew, cast, festivals, viewing link — that lists it, makes it visible, and gathers around it the people who made it. This is the social platform for emerging film and video: a place where works exist and where the people who create them find one another.
Who I am
My name is Luc Benito. There is no start-up and there are no investors behind CommuniFilms: one person, and my own money. I have worked for over twenty-five years in French film and audiovisual — cinema operator, festival director, teacher — and, more recently, I make films too, which I have listed on the site. I know this world from the inside, the people who make it as much as its struggles. It is for them that I built this tool.
What CommuniFilms does
Here, the film comes first. Each work has a complete, documented page — crew, cast, technical details, festival selections, awards, reviews, a viewing link — that brings everything together in one place and stays accessible on the site. Around the film gather the people who made it: their work is named, credited, findable. CommuniFilms is not a site for self-promotion; it is a place where works exist and where the people who make them meet.
How the site is funded — and why you do not have to pay to be seen
People are wary today, and rightly so, of any online service: how does it make money, and when will I have to pay? I would rather be clear. I funded CommuniFilms with my own money, and my aim is not to get rich. Browsing the site and showcasing films will remain free. If, one day, the platform grows enough to generate revenue, it will be said openly — and never by charging creators for the simple fact of making their work visible.
A serious project, built to last
A one-person initiative is not a fragile project. CommuniFilms is published by Les Films du Siou Blanc, a company registered with the French trade and companies register, and is governed by proper legal notices, terms of use and a privacy policy compliant with the GDPR. It was designed to last, not for the space of a single season.
